Please read carefully before coming in for community PWYC printing

Recommended use

The riso is meant to print large quantities of prints fast. If you want less than 50 copies, this might not be the right printer for your project. Doing test prints is also not a recommended use. We suggest you use this printer once you have a finalized project you will like to print in large quantities.

Quantities

We are happy to print for free/cheap for community projects and marginalized artists with limited access to funding. Free printing should limit itself to 1 or two colours of a single file of 50-200 copies. Beyond this, we would ask for donations (see last section).

About Riso

What is Riso?

The risograph resembles an office photocopier and involves a process similar to that of screen printing: it prints one colour at a time. We currently have three colors: green, black, and red. You can print from a digital file or photocopy an existing paper copy.

Examples of riso printing:

Test Print

Running a test print or a proof is difficult because masters can’t be reused. Please print tests of your file beforehand to make sure you are happy with the layout and sizes.
